After researching several companies and getting estimates we decided to go with Suffolk Systems to install a two zone HVAC system in our home. We will never regret that decision. This company truly far exceeds the definition of “quality workmanship”. They were always willing to explain all work and answer any questions we had. All the men involved in the installation were extremely courteous and very respectful of our home. This is an A-1 company!!

There are few professional, honest and thorough HVAC specialists. Suffolk Systems and all the folks I dealt with there were among those few out there.
Short version is they replaced the melted evaporator tray on my parents again HVAC system.
How did it happen? My elderly parents inadvertently melted the tray when they blocked off the air intake for the furnace and the unit overheated, roasting the plastic tray on top of it. The heat and AC both still work fine…It just leaked water from the tray when the AC mann. My parents called two service companies and both claimed the units were shot and to get a new one…. these other companies charged hundreds of dollars to “inspect” the unit and actually did nothing more than pull a cover off.
With Suffolk Systems it was VERY DIFFERENT. The first tech disassembled the furnace and evaporator covers…took a really good look at what was going on. It was very impressive and I hired them on the spot. You could tell he cared about his work and liked to do the troubleshooting and problem solving that comes with being a technician. After the part was ordered, the two techs that came to do the repair came in and right down to business. The repair work was done right, the guys were extremely competent and the price was very fair. I haven’t ever seen a proper HVAC technician in my life until these guys came by. Can’t say enough good things.

I interviewed 3 providers. He did have the middle range on the quote, and he explained everything thoroughly, how and what they were going to do. He also recommended an electrician and helped coordinate the time the electrician would be there. They put surgical wraps on their feet to protect my home. Everything worked like clockwork! They also trained me on the system, and I could’t have asked for better service. I was able to get some first-hand knowledge and experience from him.

I originally called them in for an estimate on an extension of some heating ducts into another room. While the guy was here he observed that my water heater needed attention and I told him go ahead. He replaced the water heater and I am very pleased with the work. He was very prompt and did the work in a day or two. I was going to go with another co to purchase a water heater and then I met this guy. I told him I thought I knew I what I wanted and he said no problem. He went purchased it and only charged me what they charged him plus he installed it. I was very impressed. He was very honest and did a very neat job. His price was reasonable and competitive. The Central Air System in my home was leaking water into my basement.
I called the company because of the leaks and I got a response right away. They were on time and did a great job which was completed within (1) hour. The gentleman explained to my husband how to maintain the system throughout the summer season. Bob came & gave a complete evaluation, measuring all rooms & outside too, then gave me a price. $7,700, complete, with a then $700.00 rebate from LIPA, a $300 savings from Angie’s list too, 6 months interest free loan. Bottom line the cost was $7000.00.
They came to install when they said & finished up when they said in 7 hours, cleaned up as if they were never here. They turned on the system & we enjoyed the cool fresh air conditioning as it was supposed to be.

We were having central AC put in to cover most of the house (based on our budget). A formal blueprint was prepared (free of charge because Michael is an engineer and knows this is necessary in order to give a formal proposal), and he and his crew put in a High efficiency air system with the environmentally-friendly Freon.
Michael’s name was given to us by the manufacturer of the quality system we wanted. We checked him out with bbb.org before we even had him in and there were no complaints. Good start. We were impressed by his professional, respectful, and friendly demeanor upon meeting him. His knowledge of his field was evident compared to the other companies we had over for estimates. We then called three recommendations his office assistant provided us for jobs done recently, two years ago, and seven years ago (wanted to know if they were still happy). All of the people were extremely happy and their opinions turned out to be accurate. He further impressed us with detailed engineering schematic of the house when we met him again for his proposal. We hadn’t realized he’s an engineer and the plan was free of charge. We requested that he figure out a couple of alternative plans because of our small budget. We have a farm ranch with an added sunroom and a large bedroom not connected to any attic space. Michael found a way to central air condition so that even the two rooms that we weren’t ready to ac yet (we have a good wall AC in the sunroom), might actually benefit from the central AC from the other spaces! When I asked what would happen if they run into any problems in terms of price, he said the price was firm, and if anything, he gives more not less. He kept to his word and we actually have more than we ever hoped for. Michael has had thirty years in the business and it is family owned. The crew was excellent. They were so professional and courteous! They also showed up when they said the would, took care not to hurt our plants when working outside, and cleaned up . In fact, they cleaned up after the first day as if they weren’t coming back! They even took their garbage with them! Michael came in a few times to see how it was going and stayed for a while. He was also in touch with the crew by cell during the day. You will not go wrong with this company.

The job went smoothly and was completed in 1 day. Mike’s crew was very professional and works very clean. There was absolutely no damage to the home even though they had to install the air handler in the attic and had to go through the return duct opening in the upstairs hallway- tough to do. In addition Mike is very knowledgeable about the equipment he installs and seems only interested in installing equipment from MFG’s he trusts and that produce quality equipment. They installed a new 5 ton Central A/C unit and Air Handler. The Air Handler was installed in a new location and they reconfigured all my duct work in the attic.
Prior to meeting with the sales rep from Suffolk Systems, I received 6 other estimates, most of which were either conflicting or not close to each other in scope or system. In our initial meeting with Suffolk Systems their sales rep measured my house and explained all the different options available to me. My quote for the work was received two days after our initial meeting as promised. I had several questions about the job, configuration etc before finally deciding to go with Suffolk Systems and every email I sent was responded to promptly with a full explanation. When we agreed to have Suffolk Systems do the work, they arrived as scheduled with their crew and put drop cloths down through my house. Their work was impeccable, the crew was polite and friendly and I am extremely satisfied with the work they did. I will have them back to replace my hot water heater in the future. When my cooling system stopped working, I called Suffolk Systems, and Lori sent a serviceman over to check on the problem that very day. The serviceman discovered the problem and fixed it immediately. He suggested that I might have caused the problem by turning on the system when there was still snow on the outside unit. He wasn’t being accusatory; he was simply saying it was a possibility. He was extremely professional, respectful, and knowledgeable.
Many?or I should say, most companies forget about their clients as soon as they finish the job. Suffolk Systems is not like that. Suffolk Systems employee’s , Dan & Matt, were punctual and professional. Dan diagnosed the problem as being a circuit board in the compressor. The board needed to be replaced. It took a few days for the part to come in and was promptly replaced. The A/C still wasn’t cooling efficiently, so Suffolk Systems sent Matt to check it out. This appointment took place on A Sunday! Matt discovered that that the system was low on Freon. The compressor and handler areas were checked for leaks. None was found. He added freon and now the system seems to be cooling efficiently. If the system continues to lose Freon a more thorough check for leaks would be necessary. I was not charged for the Sunday service appointment, just the Freon.
All work was handled efficiently and professionally. I was very happy with the company and know that they will stand behind their work.

They came a smudge late (but they did call to say they would be late..) It turned out that the compressor needed to be replaced, not repaired, but the estimate of the replacement was a bit too much for me to afford. I did not decide to replace the system but I would definitely use them in the future after I save up some money. Lori was very understanding and said that since they were not able to repair anything they would refund the cost of the money I had given them for them for the diagnostics to repair the irreparable unit. In April 2015, we hired Suffolk Systems to install a new central air system and install a/c ducts, and vents in our home.
From start to finish, Suffolk Systems did a fabulous job. First off, Mike and Dan had the difficult task of designing how it should be done, and where to install the unit, ducts, vents and recirculator. Since our house is an older home with some high ceilings, this was not an easy task. With Mike and Dan’s expertise, everything turned out beautifully.
The duct work took up minimal space, and the all the venting was perfectly done. I have never seen anyone work as hard as these 3 young men from Suffolk Systems. They were so accurate with all the measurements, and so careful and neat cleaning up after every cut.
Our new central air system is working beautifully. We are definitely using Suffolk Systems for all our a/c maintenance as well.
My husband and I liked everyone from this company. Lori and Mike the owners, are such wonderful people. Their consistent communication throughout the whole process was greatly appreciated.

I cannot say enough good things about Suffolk Systems. From the quoting process to finishing the installation, they were a pleasure to work with. My 20+ year old 2 zone central air system was finally on its last legs and we decided to replace the system now when we could make the decision, not when it would unpredictably die and we could be stuck with no AC.
I received multiple quotes from various companies ranging from large places like Home Depot/Lowes/Sears to some smaller installers in the Suffolk County area. Suffolk Systems not only had competitive pricing, they specialize in American Standard equipment which according to Consumer Reports is by far the most reliable brand, even when compared against Trane, Carrier, etc.
Lori was so great to work with. She setup our quote, prepared our contract, and provided exceptional customer service. Danny arrived at our home to give our estimate. He was the only one out of all companies to put on protective booties on his shoes while we walked through my home. It was a nice touch! We discussed my system and he explained the entire process of replacing my system. I asked a multitude of questions and he was more than happy to address them.
On the day of installation, Danny came with two other Suffolk Systems employees. They each introduced themselves and then proceeded to put down drop cloths from the front door all the way up the stairs, through the hallways, and into the room with attic access. They got right to work and never stopped for 10+ hours. They finished both zones in one day!
Upon finishing the installation, Danny walked me through how to change my media filters and explained how the system was laid out. Him and his team cleaned up EVERYTHING inside and outside. When they left, you couldn’t tell anyone had even been here. It was amazing. I look forward to using Suffolk Systems in the future and especially for my seasonal tune-ups.

Mike first came to our house to give us an estimate. He was on time and very nice. He measured everything and came back with a quote the next day. He was not pushy at all and answered all our questions. He took his time too! He also tried to save us money! We had some scheduling conflict in the beginning, but that was resolved quickly. Suffolk Systems was very communicative throughout the process starting with sending me quotes and through completion of the job. There was one small hiccup beyond their control regarding a piece of equipment that was on back order, but instead of just not showing up, they anticipated this issue and we re-scheduled the date of installation. Once that date came, they showed up on time and were extremely conscientious. They took great care to protect my floors and did their best to not be disruptive to everything else going on in the house (including my 8 month old daughter’s nap schedule). They finished their work in a timely manner and left with everything functioning properly. Just in time for 90+ degree weather. What an amazing transition and it was worth every dollar. After interviewing other HVAC contractors, I confidently selected Sufffolk Systems Inc based upon Dan’s expertise and added recommendation to not only replace the existing system but include a separate ductless unit in our ‘sun room”. The work was completed in two days and exceeded my expectations. The test was this past week when the outside temperatures were 85 – 90 and my home was a cool 70. The Fujitsu ductless makes cooling our sun room a breeze. We no longer have to pull down all window shades and can enjoy the view while our grandsons can freely go in and out to the pool. My son in law laughed saying it is like a meat locker, no longer an oven. The American Standard Central system has no problem cooling the rest of the house also without having all shades puled down. What a great combination of cooling. I can not be happier. I highly recommend Suffolk Systems, an honest, professional, owner operated company for all your HVAC needs. In mid-May Suffolk Systems replaced both the condenser and air handler units of my aging central air system, made necessary modifications to existing duct work to accommodate the new equipment, and updated electrical wiring where needed.
After reading the reviews on Angie’s List, I thought can anybody really be this good? Yes they can. The entire team on the job, up to four people during the day, was courteous, professional, and knew their jobs. Even though they were replacing an existing system, a complete survey was done to properly size the new equipment. The work was performed neat, and of high quality with attention to detail. They definitely take pride in their work. The temps for the past two days have been in the mid 90s and the system has performed beautifully. Suffolk Systems took care of all the paper work for manufacturer and LIPA rebates. If you’re looking to have a/c work done, you should put Suffolk Systems on your call list.

It went really well. The level of professionalism exhibited was unparalleled. You really don’t find people that take pride in their work. The gentleman that came over did an excellent job. Unlike Petro, he was willing to work in a hot attic or in inclement weather in order to get the job done. He replaced the contactor, removed a faulty component in the attic, rewired my system for my new ecobee 4 thermostat, checked my refrigerant level, take temp readings and cleaned the fins for better airflow. It went great! The technician came out and within minutes had diagnosed the problem – a blown fuse at the blower. He quickly changed it and had the system up and running in no time. He mentioned that the gas was a bit low and added 2 lbs. of freon. The system is working great and I am so happy that I called Suffolk Systems. The tech was knowledgable and honest. Huge difference from my oil company tech that told me (2 years ago) the system would probably not last through the summer. Will definitely stick with Suffolk from now on. The only issue was that I had a 4pm appointment, but the technician did not arrive till after 9PM. This would have been a greater concern, but I was called at 4 and told that he was running very late and not to expect him until after 7. I was actually surprised when I received a call at 8:30 that he was on this way.

Suffolk sent a technician out to us but he got delayed on another job. Upon his arrival and look-see at our unit, the fan to the outside unit had rusted and snapped off. They needed to replace both the fan and the motor but did not have the motor available and it had to be ordered. They ordered the motor but it was delivered to the wrong distribution center and they had to spend more time to get it. Finally they were able to install it and now the AC is working ok (although due to the size of the new fan, it makes more noise then the old one)

Suffolk Systems was simply top notch from start to finish. My experience was fantastic! We had a very good experience with Suffolk Systems Inc through the whole process of our project to replace an old A/C. They were prompt to come for the initial check, send proposal of the project scope and the cost, and perform the installation work. Their proposal was professional and detailed, and itself answered many questions a customer could have. Compared to other HVAC contractors we asked, their quote was also more competitive with the device models they provided. The installation work was performed neatly, smoothly and professionally. Their service was satisfactory and considerate. They gave us PSEG discount in advance and they took over the paperwork and application. They did warranty registration for us and mailed the certificate to us; when we found an error in the certificate, they actively helped us to contact the manufacturer to update the information and got us a modified certificate.

Scheduled appointment for quote. Showed up on time. I received 3 quotes for the work. One was much higher than the other two. Suffolk and one of the the other two were very comparable in price. The person who quoted the job, Danny, also performed the work. I was changing the type of a/c units so I needed to run new pipes from the outside to the attic. Danny was very knowledgeable and was very interested in finding a way to do the work that would be both aesthetically pleasing and economical. He provided several good alternatives. They were able to schedule the work to be done within a few days after I agreed to move forward. The work was completed when promised, within the time frame quoted and they did not cut any corners in making sure the work was done right. For example, they put down drop cloths from the front door to the attic to make sure they did not get any dirt on the carpet. Just one example of their extra effort to make sure it was a clean job. The communications with the office was excellent. I had a problem with my heating system, which is separate from the A/C about a week after the A/C was installed. I called Suffolk and they scheduled an appointment at a specific time. When they thought they were going to be late, the office called and informed me about the possible delay. As it turned out they were able to arrive within 15 minutes of the scheduled time. They figured out the problem and had it fixed within about one hour. It is not a huge company with a ton of service people. I happen to be in an area that they have a lot of clients, the North Shore of Nassau County, so they are a perfect fit for me. I am not out of there way so they are able to provide excellent service. I have another zone that is old technology and very inefficient and unreliable. When it fails I will need to be replace that zone and I would not hesitate to use Suffolk again.
